“Thank you so much for organising such a terrific workshop and for sharing your incredible knowledge so generously. I enjoyed every second and learned so much” workshop delegate, June 2017
Co-led with freelance travel & lifestyle journalist – and former Guardian colleague – Helen Ochyra, a fourth workshop for travel PRs will run in August 2017.
This intense and hugely informative half-day workshop is completely focused on pitching journalists and editors and building positive relationships with them. It gives PRs working in the travel industry unique access to two working journalists – and invaluable information on the mindset of editors and writers across consumer media.
The affordable workshop takes place at a training venue within walking distance from Kings Cross / St. Pancras and Euston stations and starts at 1:15pm, making it easy for delegates from all over the country to take part without requiring overnight accommodation.
This unique workshop covers:
An overview of the story ideas journalists and editors want to receive
How to prepare the perfect pitch (with lots of examples)
Pitching dos and don’ts
How to build positive relationships as you pitch
Frank and open Q&A session
What you’ll get:
A unique pitching workshop opportunity – bring along a new or unsuccessful pitch to workshop (confidentially) within the group on the day: this exercise helps to inspire new ideas on the spot and builds a template to use when pitching in the future
The small group size gives every participant ample time to receive detailed feedback and support, and our delegates find the opportunity to share ideas and good working practice with other PRs hugely useful
We are highly experienced (and friendly) workshop leaders, with over 25 combined years of freelance and staff experience: we have both worked on staff at the Guardian and written extensively for leading national and international publications and websites
Our unique workshop is focused on travel with specific tips and information relevant to the industry
£250 per delegate
What our delegates say:
